Anyone who runs their own business knows that finding customers can be the hardest work of all. And, for companies who need to buy goods or services, finding qualified vendors is always a top priority.
The RTA is making that process a little easier: we’re now providing an on-line, easy to use, interactive procurement portal, or “e-portal”.
Our new and improved e-Bid procurement software allows the following on-line activities:
- Vendor self-registration and maintenance
- Vendor database management
- Electronic bidding
- Review of proposer/bidder submission
- Contract management
- Tracking of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) vendor payments
Vendors can easily register on the portal. Once they’ve registered and indicated the types of services or supplies they provide, the RTA can notify them of opportunities to do business with the RTA. Vendors can electronically submit bids and follow the progress of procurements in which they are participating. Vendors can also manage subcontractor participation by entering contract payment information.
We think this will help vendors understand RTA processes and participate in contracting opportunities and help the RTA to find the best vendors possible. A win-win-win, for vendors, riders and the RTA.
